Maternity

  1. I noticed that you shoot on: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 9am. Why? We always get you in at 9 a.m. so that once 11 a.m. hits and we are ready to shoot, you will start your day off glowing and ready to slay your session!

  2. Can I do my own Hair & Makeup? Hair & Makeup is a huge part of my service. It’s time for you to relax, be pampered and enjoy the experience. Let us take care of you, and at the same time assure that the makeup is on point for maternity photos.

  3. Is there a rental fee to select the dresses in your wardrobe? NO! That’s the best part, it’s included in my service.

  4. Do you offer digitals & albums? Yes, girl, we have amazing products. We have digitals, but I promise you that there is nothing better than prints, albums and wall art to see it every day.

  5. How long will it take to see my images? Your images will be ready within 30 days of your session. We value our customers and how they invest their time into this session, we want to make sure they have great quality.

  1. I noticed that you shoot on: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 9am. Why? We always get you in at 9 a.m. so that baby is sleepy, also if you are having Hair & Makeup done Frances will come to your home to do all the pampering so once 11 a.m. hits and we are ready to shoot, you will start your day off glowing and ready to slay your session with your little one!

  2. When should I book my newborn session? How do I secure my spot? Generally, my clients book within a few months of delivery (and some the moment they find out they're pregnant!) The sooner the better is key, to avoid disappointment. We also set a tentative date based on your due date. Generally babies don’t arrive when predicted, but at least we will have a starting point, and I will put you in my calendar for your birth 'month'.

  3. When is the session fee due? A retainer deposit MUST be made to book your session date. Deposits on any session bookings must be paid at the latest, one week before the session takes place. All final payments are due prior to the session unless otherwise discussed. Most clients pay in full so they don’t have to worry about anything but coming in and relaxing.

  4. What about photos with families/siblings? I always welcome siblings to come and be a part of the family photos. We have a package specifically for newborn and family. Please try to keep them calm during this time as a quiet atmosphere is very important in obtaining newborn photos. Having someone to keep the siblings occupied is a must, as I generally keep the studio door closed to avoid disruption, and to keep the room toasty warm for the newborn. It is recommended to have someone available to take the sibling home after they are finished. We typically like to get the sibling shots done first. Newborn sessions are lengthy and siblings may get bored very quickly.

  5. How do we prepare for the session? Please read through the Preparation Guide forms I will email to you once session is booked, including how to prepare for your session. Following a few simple guidelines results in a smooth and calm session.

  6. What should I bring for the baby to wear? Most of my work is done using wraps, covers and nude. I try not to disturb the baby once they are sleeping by changing outfits, putting on pants etc. Besides, they are only this size for a very short time and clothes tend to add bulk and detract from their tiny features. If you are planning on family or sibling photos with your newborn, I suggest you wear something comfortable. Jeans with a black or neutral tone (Brown, beige, cream, etc.) shirt/t-shirt/blouse work best. It's a good idea to bring along a change of clothes as newborns are bound to have accidents at their sessions.

  7. What do we expect once we arrive? Expect to have a rest! Honestly... I want you to feel at home, comfortable and relaxed during the session. Once you arrive with baby, I will show you the colours and sets I have chosen based on our previous discussions. I will have bottled water on site, and encourage you to bring snacks, a book or just have a snooze! If you want to watch the entire session unfold, feel free! Explore and pick through my props, hats, headbands and wraps.

  8. Do you offer digitals & albums? Yes, girl, we have amazing products. We have digitals, but I promise you that there is nothing better than prints, albums and wall art to see it every day.

  9. How long will it take to see my images? Your images will be ready within 30 days of your session. We value our customers and how they invest their time into this session, we want to make sure they have great quality.

Family

  1. Where will my Session take place?, With an area as big as Windsor-Essex, our sessions are on-location and use the beauty that abounds as the ultimate backdrop. We have lots of secret locations for you to choose from! The session can be at a park, woods area, or other spots - we love new locations so let's chat about what location would be best for you and create images that reflect you and your family's favourite locales!

  2. When will my photos be ready?, Your images will be available to view at your online viewing session a few weeks after the session. Final print orders will be ready within 2-4 weeks of ordering.

  3. Will my photographs be retouched?, Our service provides a basic editing process and we strive to make all of the images you'll receive as perfect as possible. That being said, wrinkles, acne, stray hairs, or any other issues are able to be fixed for all printed images.

  4. Where will we take our family portraits?, I love working outside, especially when photographing kids, because they have room to play, run, and be themselves. (The exception is newborn portraits, which are always done inside your home.) In my mind, there are three categories of outdoor spaces: the beach, the park, and the city. Each has pros and cons and each has a different look and feel. I’ll be there to help you decide which is the best location to tell your family’s story.

  5. What should we wear? First and foremost, you should be comfortable! Outdoor family portrait sessions – especially with little kids – are fairly active, so expect that the kids may run around and get a little dirty, you may need to sit on the ground, and we may do some walking around. Comfort is paramount to make sure that you can relax and be yourself in front of the camera.

  6. We are looking for a mixture of candid and posed family photos. Can you do both?, Always! My visual storytelling style leans toward a candid, documentary approach (the kids being hilarious, the dog licking your face), but posed family photographs, where everyone is smiling and looking at the camera, are also treasured keepsakes. We find a way to work both into our session.

  7. When will our photos be ready, and how many will we receive?, My process is a little different from other photographers because I don’t just send you a link to digital files and abandon you! About two weeks after your session, we convene virtually to view your gallery of up to 20+ proofs so that I can help you select your favourites and figure out what products make the most sense for you and your family. Once you select the package that best suits your needs, we’ll place the order and have everything ready for pickup within a few weeks.

  8. Can we bring along the family pet?, Sure! Pets are totally family members! Let’s just make sure they’re groomed, well behaved, and on a leash. Bring plenty of treats and a few chew toys, to be safe.

  9. My in-laws will be in town during our session. Can we do a few pictures with them?, Of course. I don’t limit the number of people who can be involved in our portrait session and it’s up to you to invite family members who you’d like to have there. Mini Sessions come with 5 people included in the session, for additional people it will cost $25.00 per person. Please let me know when you book your Session how many people will be involved, so that I can best plan your session in advance.
